Dig over and prepare beds for sowing

 

Vegetables

Some indoor sowings can start now... tomatoes, globe artichokes and sprouting broccoli

It is possible to sow onions, leeks, lettuce, peas, broad beans, sprouts, spinach, radish and carrots if the ground is warm enough (best under protection)

Plant out garlic and shallots

Chit potatoes

Prune Autumn raspberries down as low as possible and mulch around them

Plant soft fruit bushes. 

Plant rhubarb

Plant apple and pear trees (Nov - Mar)
