General

Install guttering and a water butt on your shed, greenhouse or polytunnel. Harvesting FREE rainwater is now essential for DAGA members.

Clear your plot of spent crops, compost plants and take down bean poles.

Rough dig over any heavy ground.

Vegetables

Harvest last runner beans and courgettes,  pumpkins and squash and dig the last maincrop potatoes out the ground.

Pick any remaining tomatoes to ripen up indoors. 

Stake Brussels sprouts and sprouting broccoli plants. 

Sow winter lettuce, winter hardy peas and broad beans at the end of the month  for an early crop in the spring.

Plant out spring cabbage and overwintering onions and garlic.

Fruit

Plant rhubarb crowns.

Prune blackcurrants, redcurrants and gooseberries.

Cut back raspberries and blackberries.
